Shooter POV shot and how I filmed it
I wanted the shooter to be very tall and intimidating. So, when choosing Zach, if you read my casting vlog, he was the perfect candidate. I stood next to him and held the camera at his forehead to use his height as a guide, but also having his hands and feet in the shot. I needed this so that when he bangs on the door you can see him. It was definitely difficult, but worth it in the end.

Location
We ultimately decided our school was the best school to film at. This is because it was the easiest to get permission to shoot after hours, but also it is an outside school where there are many places to run, but not hide. This was an important issue that needed to be showed in our movie opening. We filmed after marching band practice so no one can be in the background. This was essential because if the character was the only one running while everyone else in the back wasn’t, it wouldn’t make sense and would not be believable. This is also a reason why we added the leaving early text so it seems like no one is out there because its in the middle of a school day.
